Hi Everybody:
I had such a wonderful day today. Well the first thing I did was make yet another appointment with my doctor - i've had enough of this cold. She gave me antibiotics despite what I heard about not being able to take them prior to surgery. What she said is that sometimes right before they perform surgery, they give you antibiotics to avoid you getting an infection, etc. so she assured me that I would be okay taking a 5 day dosage. I asked her are you sure (questioning her threw her off guard) and she looked at me like "really lady" I'm a doctor - I couldn't help but laugh
Prior to leaving for the doctors a few friends of mine came by the office to wish me well before I take off tomorrow. We laughed and carried on like teenagers and they cheered me on and told me how proud they were of me. I really felt the love and the support was on overload.
My baby sister and her husband and I have made plans to go out to dinner Thursday night - we are going to City Island and I'm going to have my crab legs and enjoy myself before i have to do the liquid diet this weekend.
1 week from today I will cross over to the losers bench and I can't tell you how excited, nervous, anxious and psyched I am - yes all of those emotions, but the major one is excited about a new beginning and the opportunity to make it happen. I did get a telephone call saying I have to pay the 100 dollar co-pay when i get to the hospital that morning (never had to do that before) but not even that could upset me. As long as there are no other financial surprises.
I hope you all had as wonderful a day as i have. when my friends surprised me I felt like a star in the spot light, but what made it even more exciting for me is that they will all be there to cheer me on when I return.
