Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. I look forward to getting to know you.
I tried some of the protein shakes allowed by my bariatric program and bought two large tubs of those for the pre op liquid diet. I also bought lots of sample packets of different brands and flavors to be used post op since everyone says what you like pre op you won't like post op so I am saving all those packets for after my surgery. Did your program give you a manual or binder? Many times there are things in there too to buy in advance. Mine suggested peppermint tea decaf for stomach upset, extract of peppermint to put on a hankie in case food smells make you sick and other things like that.
I am cleaning my house really good on Sat and mowing my yard on Sunday before surgery Monday. I gave the dogs a bath last weekend. Trying to get that stuff done too so I won't have to worry about it after surgery while I recooping.
Good luck!
