Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

I am just saying...
always check with your own doc on such things because we are all so different and all our nuts are different.
also congrats on getting your date...I am one of the ones still waiting after forever and ten days...
good luck to you sugar...
also make sure you get your pain meds filled prior to surgery also...you don't want to have that chore afterwards...
Sippy cup(s), baby spoon(s) (you can pick these up at most $1 stores), Pill crusher, strainer (to strain chunks out of cream soups), No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast (the pre-mixed kind is MUCH better than the kind you mix yourself in my opinon), Skim or 1% milk, non-carbonated, non caloric beverages (water - LOL), Sugar substitute (I love Splenda), Sugar Free Jell-O, Sugar Free Pudding, Sugar Free Popcicles (the Crystal Light ones are GRRREEAAAT), Clear broth or bouillon (I used the Maggi brand with the chicken and tomato...it was great. You can find it in the international foods section in your grocery store), Cream based soups made with skim milk (98% fat free cream of chicken, broccoli and cheese, etc, just be sure to strain them), PLENTY of protein supplements (I drank the Proti-15 drinks because they were not thick shake-like drinks, more like juice. I also used protein shake powders as well but used the Proti to supplement that.), Chewable Multivitamin, Chewable Calcium CITRATE (not carbonate) supplement, Sublingual B12 supplement (if not taking injections), Chewable Dramamine or Chewable Bonine (they're anti-motion sickness meds but it REALLY helps with nausea), Tums, Liquid Laxative (MiraLax), Liquid Tylenol pain reliever for adults, thermometer, lip balm (for hospital), zip-front robem (for hospital), sturdy, no-slip slippers (for hospital), toiletries (for hospital), decaf coffee or tea, Large band-aids in case you need them for your incisions, crystal light drink mixes if you prefer them in your water, one of my personal recommendations is to get a Ninja Blade food chopper (it is great for adding things to your protein shakes amp up the taste), No sugar added applesauce (to put your Rx meds in if your doctor has you to crush them up to take them), gas drops (I USED THE HELL OUT OF THESE!), 4x4 gauze pads and sterile tape (if you have a JP drain, you'll have to dress it with these, the hospital may give you some dressings though before you leave), anti-bacterial hand soap and/or hand sanitizer (keep your hands clean to cut down on infection), and....I think that's it! A lot of these were not in my book but they are things I felt were good to have on hand! Good luck with everything and have a great night!! :)
