weight gain right after gastric bypass

Is it normal to gain weight right after having gastric bypass surgery? I am 4 days post op and weigh more than when I had the surgery. I am doing everything right.

Yes, they usually put water and air in you. It is quite normal to show a small gain. It will go away soon. Congrats on getting your surgery!

Its just the post op bloating. Wait until at least a week post op to weigh. Sip your protein and water constantly. Protein melts the fat and water flushes it.

Yep! Perfectly normal. LCat is right...protein and water. It's hard to be patient, but the weight will come rolling off soon enough! Good luck and Congrats on your decision to have this surgery!

Ditto, it's normal after any major surgery, especially one where they pump you full of liquids. Sip and walk, sip and walk, you'll see it going away very soon. Speedy healing!
