They wanted me to take celebrate vitamins. I use the Multi and then extra calcium and extra D, and under the tounge B. Good luck!
Give your doctors office a call if you have any questions...don't let them slide on providing you the information you need. For me, I wasn't required to start my vitamins until after my 2 week post op visit. Now I take multi vitamins (when they had to be chewables I used flintstones chewables for kids), iron, calcium, sublingual vitamin B-12, vitamin D and actigall (not a vitamin, but prescription). If you cant reach your surgeon, try your nutritionist.
You will also need chewable calcium and sublingual B12.
You can try 5000 mg of Biotin for hairloss (it can't hurt)
I absolutely hated the chewable stuff, so as soon as I was allowed (1 month), I started swallowing pills.

Here is an article you should read entitled "Nutritional Guidelines for the Surgical Weight Loss Patient." It details post-op Nutritional requirements, including supplementation, for each type of surgery: http://www.asmbs.org/Newsite07/resources/bgs_final.pdf . I found this link on Shelly's blog ('Links and Resources' page). Thanks again Shelly! :-))
Here is another link to a page on Shelly's blog about getting free sample from 3 major providers of Post-WLS supplements: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2010/10/heads-up-free-vitamin-samples.html .
Just click on the link below the logo for each company and it will take you to the order page. The samples are completely free. You don't even have to pay for shipping. I tried the samples and I like the Celebrate vitamins best. The companies themselves will give you recommendations based on your particular surgery, and if you read the above article it's all contained in there, however, I would definitely ask your doc for her/his recommendations too.
Also, someone posted a link recently about a new bariatric supplement out that is supposed to be an all-in-one. Some people said they love it, some were skeptical about the idea of taking iron and calcium together which is how this particular supplement works. You might look back at the discussion posts for this brand as it seemed pretty cool to have an all-in-one. How easy!
Good luck!

PS-I subscribed to your YouTube vlog! I haven't had a chance to view it yet but it's on my "to do" list. My oldest daughter, who is big into vlogs, keeps urging me to do one as well. I may, but I will wait until closer to my surgery date to begin if I do. :-))
