Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Another suggestion is to bring your own food, I kept smelling popcorn and I really wanted to eat it, but I brought a SF Jello, and water in my purse....Have Fun!
Shelley :o)
I don't think there is a set rule or time frame, I think just know what your limits are... I think you will tire very easily....
I don't see the harm in going to a movie.... You are basically sitting and watching.... Enjoy!!!!!!
Take it easy and listen to your body!
Every day after that my mom and I ventured out for a little while. It took me about 2 weeks to not be completely pooped after an outing, and let me tell you, SLEEP is SUPER important! Naps are a good thing, but everything in moderation is the key.
Enjoy! :)
Go at ur own pace. Of course checking with ur team, but mine told me slow and steady and rest as needed. I went out 3 days post op to hospital ER because my dad fell and broke several bones. When we got home after 4 hours and got him settled (as I am his primary care giver) I was exhausted. I've been taking care of him mostly, but have friends and family helping especially at night so I can get my full sleep. Some days I am exhausted and get my walks and 2 hour naps, others I don't need naps. U'll know when u Ned to rest. I was stir crazy and have been shopping and out almost daily for past 2 weeks even if just for 30 min to walk around.
I contacted my nurse practitioner and she said 30 minute walks per day are okay now, and okay'd the movies. I had an awesome time with my men and then back home - took my first before and after photo which i will post and now i plan to lay back in the arms of my husband and watch another movie
Be blessed all and thank you for chiming in.
