I called the Pastor and told him I knew what he wanted to talk to me about. Let's just talk on the phone. He told me that it was with great sadness that they had to let me go. It has nothing to do with my talent or my surgery, it is due to financial problems. I've been there for 15 years. The worst part is I don't even get to say goodbye to my church family.

I know that when God closes a door a window usually opens, and I'll be okay. I'm just really sad. So, I am gonna concentrate on this new body of mine, get healthy and strong, and enjoy my family. And probably start freelancing again.

Thanks for your love and support. I am so thankful to be able to share my ups and downs with you.

Everything does happen (or doesn't happen) for reasons, which at the time, we may not see. The timing is crappy, but honestly there is never a good time to get notice of cut backs. I am sooooo sorry.
I'm here if you need to cry, yell, vent etc.!

I'm so sorry Scrappy, it's a tough time for this to happen to you. I don't understand why you have to say goodbye to your church family though, won't you still be there with them? Good luck with the job search, your talent is valuable and will come through for you.

Thanks, everyone. The reason I have to say goodbye to them is because I am not Methodist. I'm a Catholic who worked at the Methodist church. I'll be going to my home church with my family from now on.

Sorry to hear about your job loss. Its been a rough year for alot of peopleand so many have lost jobs hope you get unemployment.

Scrappy, you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Enjoy the wonder of knowing that God has a whole new group of people out there he wants you to get to know. He'll let you know when it's time. He always has a plan. In the meantime enjoy your break and know our prayers are with you. good luck in your new adventure to come......

I am sorry about this news for you. We went through this unexpected job loss when my husband got a phone call one Monday morning and learned he lost his job of 30+ years. He did find a similar job but it did take him a year. In the time off, I had my surgery, and he was able to be in town (he travels a bit normally), and he helped with a group at church that builds ramps for handicapped people and joined the choir and a golf team...things he hadn't been able to do while working all those years. So it opened other doors for sure.

I hope this will be short-lived for you.
