How are you doing today on this 5th post op day?
My husband asked me in one of my roughest times - If you could go back to the day before surgery, knowing what you know now, would you go ahead? I was able to answer immediately -YES.
Question for the Gurus - protein shake (premixed) is 11 oz. Do I get to count any of that with my liquids My doc says 64 oz minimum, more is better. It has been hard for me to get that.

It is suspected my set back may have been caused by my cpap machine. Thinking that too much air got into my stomach leaving no space for anything else. I would not suggest vomiting two days after surgery, very painful!
So now I feel I'm behind the eight ball on my recovery, not only because of the set back but because of family life that has also causes some major extra stress and the need of my attention. Therefore, haven't been focusing on myself the way I should be. Go back to work tomorrow on to of it. It's going to be a long, bumpy road for me!
I'm sitting here thinking how frantic I would feel having to be back at work only one week after. I am lucky to be able to take several weeks off. But I'm old and my recuperative powers are not what they once were.
What do you see as your biggest single challenge right now?
Wishing you a fast recovery.
What do dietitians say about how much of a protein rich liquid you can count as H20?
