Today, is the first anniversary of one of the biggest changes in my life. I had Gastric Bypass surgery. It saved my life, so I could be here for my children, who I love more than anything and for my grandchildren, family and friends. I am a... survivor of many things and from those experiences it changed the way that I viewed life. From every bad experience it comes with a lesson. From every new challenge will also teach you a lesson, something to grow with, and increase the knowledge of where you should go, and maybe the courage to do something to make a change. . My surgery for me was a s success, my diabetes is almost non existent, I am a type 1.5 so I will never be completely off of insulin. but that is okay. I have no more hypertension. I have reduced my chances of Heart Disease and Kidney Failure from which my family has a strong history for. For those things I am most grateful. Losing 132-135 lbs has been just awesome. I am the same size now as I was in elementary school. WOW! For all of you, who gave up time to be with me. That have loved me through fat and thin. Who gave me kind words of encouragement. Thank you! Without you my dear family and friends, this journey would have still gone on, but with a lot more difficulty. My surgical team was awesome... thank you Dr. Kruger and staff and I know that you will continue to do good work through the ages.

Thank you for all of your support. I love you all. We are doing this together. Support when you can, be hopeful, take things slow and easy, have fun and feel blessed. We did not gain this weight overnight, we will not loose this weight overnight. But most of all, the changes we make now will last a life time. We all have learned a lot about our bodies. It is the same in some ways but different in a lot of ways we are not the same, different in so many ways, but all going for the common goal of getting healthy.
