This weeks update

Hi Everyone, hope you are all well.

so Sunday morning is my weekly weigh in day (well the day I record my weight lol, I really need to just weigh once a week). so I thought I would update you.

it has been 5 weeks since my surgery. this week I lost just .7 of a kg for the metrics that's 1.5 lbs. total weight loss since surgery is 10kgs or 22lbs. although I am a bit disappointed with this week it is still a loss.

I am a bit worried that the surgery was all for nothing and can not picture myself at goal, but I suppose that is a head issue from being fat for so many years. how do you guys get through the feelings????

Oh Marty I need to come give you a big hug, and Say, Marty rejoice in the losses and enjoy. If you keep telling yourself that the surgery was all for not, that is what it will be. I have weird ideas and have to do a lot of talking to myself. We must be positive with ourselves. You are doing great, we all loose at different rates. I see others losses I become frustrated and can't. We are not loser losers, just weight losers I expect another report next week and be happy with yourself. You are my buddy and I am counting on you.

Yes Marty...just like akgirl, I wish I could give you a big hug. You have a great support system and following here on this thread. Surgery can sometimes trigger a bit of depression. It takes awhile to get all those drugs out of our system and start feeling "normal" again. Try going for a short walk. Look at all the beauty that surrounds you. Tell your family how much you love them and focus on the positive aspects of your life. Follow your diet plan and don't give the weight loss a second thought. Hang in there. Everything will fall into place and the weight will continue to come off. I'm cheering for you.

Hugs Marty! Like Akgirl and Jo, I encourage you to shift your thoughts to something positive. Stick to your program and celebrate every tenth of a pound you no longer have to carry around! The more you stress and worry over the numbers and your doubts, the longer it will take for the weight to shed. Stress and worry are big barriers to shedding weight as they literally impact weight as seen in study after study. How to get through the feelings? Get out and live!

I would advise not weighing even weekly right now. I didn't even own a scale for the first 3 months. When I went to the doctor post op it was always a surprise. I didn't have any of that pressure of "will it work". Now at 2 1/2 yrs post I weigh daily. Don't always like what it shows but I have to keep on top of things. Good luck and don't stress. Follow your plan and it'll happen! Good luck.

I think I've spent too much time on Facebook today. I kept looking for the "like" button for each of these posts!

Marty, everyone here is correct. Being patient is so hard when we want something so badly. The weight WILL come off, but only your body knows how much or when. If only it could give us a hint!
