Interesting story to share....
Yesterday, I went to have a procedure done on my back, at the pain management center. It was a Radio Frequency Ablation, which basically means, they "BURN THE NERVE", TO intercept the pain....
So far, last night was the 1st night, I did not have any back pain in many years.
I don't know if it was from the numbing medicine or not, because I've had nerve blocks, and still had pain later on that day. Let's cross our fingers eh? I've had chronic pain for 5 yrs, and can't walk or stand, due to my back, so if this works, i'll be a happy camper.
SO, at my procedure, there was a lady across from me. She started talking, asking what I was having done. She said "Oh , I had that done"...I told her, I had difficulty walking, and that losing the weight was the other thing that I am concentrating on doing, but decided to try the new procedure.
She said "Oh me too , I lost a lot of weight". I said, well i'm actually having GBS at the end of this month. She said, "Oh!!! I HAD THAT DONE...But, I drank soda, and drank before meals, and you know...when you go out to dinner, and you have leftovers in the fridge?
well, when I had the surgery, I was starving, so I used to go in and eat the leftovers, and I ended up gaining a lot of my weight back.
She said, "I had lost a lot of weight really fast, and then I started eating more, and then I couldnt' really give up the soda, blah , blah blah...LOL!!
SO I listened, and smiled, and said Uh huh..and then I told her I plan on following it the best I can, and have researched it, and belong to a support group.
She said, that she had a tummy tuck and a face lift and the whole shebang....
SO, I left to get my procedure done and thought about this.
I met her for a reason!!! The reason was, how to NOT behave, after having GBS!!!! Why on earth, would she purposely do all the WRONG things, and it seemed as if it was no big deal....Granted, she said she went back and lost some or most of the weight she gained, but she acted like the plastic surgery was more important than the GBS surgery and actions that she made.
I don't know, I just think that things happen for a reason, and people cross your path for a reason, and I am glad she did, because I plan on doing it the right way...
Just wanted to share....And, I have now lost 14 pounds, pre op...and still have about 3 weeks to go!
Total pre-op loss to date is 32 pounds....from when I lost weight before the partial liquid diet, and kept off.

I truly hope the back pain is behind you! That would be a wonderful way to start your post surgery life! :)
