Bring cider for your before dinner drink. It's a nice gift for the host/hostess
Appetizers..... a piece of cheese, an olive, or your favorite dip on a piece of cucumber. 3 bites is all you want or need.
Dinner is easier! Start with turkey and gravy. I then had room for 3 bites of my favorite sides, cranberries, veggies and a bite of stuffing.
I didn't have room for more than one bite of pumpkin pie and in holidays since, have skipped the pies completely in favor of another bite of stuffing.
Tasting a bit of all my favorites let me celebrate, my new habit of eating slowly, chewing, and really tasting the food, helped too. I found I had more time to converse and listen to my family, for me a good thing.
You can do this. Have fun and enjoy.
lol! my pre op liquid diet encompassed Thanksgiving that year. I had to cook for and clean up after a family feast and couldn't even taste it! I felt so deprived! Now can laugh about it. I survived.
This year no one could come so I plan a burger and fries. That's living dangerously.
Thanksgiving Blessings to all!!
