Just saw my surgeon and he said that my surgery yesterday went very well. Still haven't farted but as long as my pain is under control and my liquids stay down I will be able to go home tomorrow.

Wonderful that you are doing great! I know you must be anxious to get home and start your new life. Scoot over on that bench; I will be heading your way soon! (after today I can say "next month".....5 weeks, 19 hours and 6 minutes from now) but who's counting??? LOL

Congratulations on everything going well. Remember to sip water and walk as much as possible. You will eventually pass gas and feel great, too. I hope that you continue to do well. Keep us posted on your progress.

That is great. I just got home yesterday. Do not worry about the Fart it will come about the morning 2days after the surgery...do not trust it will be just air...I thought it was air only, I was out my 15 minute walk of the halls, and let a not so nice trail back to my room ...

I can laugh now about but yesterday it was not so funny. when you feel it coming head directly to the bathroom.

You will feel worlds better when you get home. But walk walk walk...it helps so much and I feel so much better after a quick walk.

Thanks guys! I'm home now and feelin pretty good with my pain meds :-) I think they are my new best friends. It's been over 48 hours since surgery and I'm hardly having any gas pains. I'm sure they will crop up sometime soon but did anyone not have problems with gas? I had 3 really tiny farts this morning but that's been it.

anesthesia paralyzes your intestine so having gas just means that it is waking up. Good luck
