this past sunday i had to get my gallbladder removed. I am very upset because when i had my bi pass surgery i ask the doctor to take it out then but he told me that i didn't need to even thou i had gall stones. So no i am off from work for another 6weeks because the surgeon didn't listen to my concerns!! I am very upset because i just had the bi-pass in march and was out of work for 6weeks and now had to have my gall bladder out and i have to be out for another 6weeks the differences is this one was not plan!! I am still in pain it been almost a week I stay sick all the time very scared to eat. sorry to be such a sour puss but this really suck!!!!!!!!

it does stink and i am sorry that you have had to endure this. Gallbladder isn't something they can automatically just remove. They have to get it certified as a seperate procedure even thought they are already in ther.

I'm sorry for your rough time. Do not be afraid to bring up your anger with your surgeon. Hopefully, he will learn to listen to his patients! I hope you continue to recover and that the pain will lessen and you will be able to eat again!

I have no idea what your circumstances are, but I've read here that some insurance companies will NOT allow both procedures to be done at the same time...which I think is ridiculous..if you're already there..they should just do it.

I'm sorry though, that does really make life hard :(

Sorry you had to deal with that. At least once you are healed you will not have to worry about your gall bladder going bad. Rest and relax while you can. You will have time to be mad later. Right now your body needs to heal. Take care of yourself and make sure you stay hydrated.

I tried to get my surgeon to take mine out at the same time as GBP but he said no. I thank God I haven't had any problems thus far. It should have been your choice to make.

I am so very sorry this happened to you. I know years ago my gaulbladder had to get very very sick before insurance would pay for it to come out so Im sure that is a big factor.......he didnt explain just said no? jerks.......not many Drs listen anymore which is scarry sad.

I wonder though if it is more difficult to do both procedures together because I know most of my insisions from WLS were in different places then the gallblader? WLS was left GB was on rt. either way its inexcusable.

I had my gallbladder out years ago and so did my daughter so neither of us had to deal with that but I've been told that most insurances won't pay for them to be taken out at the same time, which seems ridiculous.

I hope that you're on the mend and feeling better soon.
