Lately I've been going to the gym as a treat. Yes, I have to trick myself a little bit and turn it into a "spa" experience in my head. I found a really nice family gym at a church that has a saline pool and indoor track. It's a very friendly environment, no loud music and obnoxious skinny people in spandex. I warm up on the track by walking a few laps, then I hop on the elliptical for about 15-20 mins, then I swim for 30 mins, then I sit in the steam bath for another 15 mins. I come out feeling like a new person, it's great!
I think it's worth the effort and expense to find the perfect gym. I never would have thought about a church gym until my friend took me there.
Crystal, I saw some of her videos at Walmart last night. I thought about it.
Homegal, I love the Leslie Sansone videos. I actually have a couple of them. My fav was the walk away the lbs for abs. I can't find my video though and I'm a bit frustrated about it.
Odal, I've heard good things about P90X also. I would love to be able to say I did that, but I don't think I have the endurance or strength to do that yet. You sound pretty lucky to have found a gym like that. Being a church gym, are they pretty child friendly. There aren't many gyms like that here. Just the big franchise gyms and maybe a few small privately owned that are definitely not child friendly. I might start going back to 24 hour but I hate having to take my son to the child care part.
My favorite exercize though for the last year has been hiking/walking. I do a 4 mile hike on the weekends, takes a little over an hour, includes 176 stairs, and I get a major workout that is so fun I tell ya. I take my neice and we gossip the whole time and are usually surprised that we are finished because it doesn't feel like we are "working out". But feels more like a great fun walk/talk. I've dropped 160 lbs doing it that way. I hate to exercize in the house, love me some outdoors.
Good luck to you!

pleb36, I love to swim, but hate to be in a swim suit, even after losing weight. But I definitely love to hike.
jstewart, I've never tried belly dancing but they had some of those videos onDemand through Comcast also. I will definitely check them out.
Bari, Thanks I go check it out.
