Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
My weight will fluctuate by 5 lbs sometimes, but mostly stays between 2-3 lbs.
i would say if you are exercising it is completely possible to have a weight change suddenly. muscle is more efficient than fat. so if you have been working for a while to build muscle, you first experience nothing because muscle weighs more than fat. but as your ratio of muscle to fat changes it makes sense that the new muscle would then start burning fat.
i would just watch it closely. with us at this point sudden, large weight loss could indicate a problem.
i have lost 130 and now weight 130. if i was to suddenly lose 3 lbs, i would be worried. but i am not working out so i have no reason to lose.
good luck
