Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
While all post op programs can vary...I am concerned that your choices are ambitious and even a bit risky at this point, post op only 4 weeks. Eggs-great if you can tolerate them. But even now for me, (2 3/4 years post op), they upset my stomach some days...other days, no problem. But in terms of "good for you" the egg is a good choice.
Rice and nuts are generally suggested much later. I (choose) not to eat rice, pasta, potatoes, and breads, on my nutritionist's suggestion. If that is too drastic, and you can make simple choices without overdoing, it MAY be ok for you...but likely not yet.
The stomach rebounds pretty well, pretty fast, in most cases, but nuts are very hard to digest even for some that have not have their stomachs altered.
Consider smaller amounts too....wait a bit, (half hour or longer), see if you are really hungry, (vs mental appetite), and then eat again, small amount, a couple hours later. You really have to think small at this point. Eating more often is fine, just keep it small, and stick to basics is my best advice.
