Just like kids and puppies grow, stretch out tall and long, then get pudgy before stretching out again, when we lose, we lose pounds, then inches, then pounds, then nothing, then inches, then nothing, then pounds, then inches........ Weigh yourself once in a while, measure yourself every so often, and don't despair. If you follow your program, you will continue to lose.

Thanks for this post. I needed the reminder. My surgery was on 11/16 and I feel like I have stalled as well. I'm doing all the right things, but can't wrap my head around that this is going to actually work. I'm so afraid of failure. Good luck to you!

Jstmee. thanks for your post. I had my surgery nov 10 so we are at the same place. I just finished having my measurements taken, unbelievable. I know I have lost people see it and I am into clothes that didn't fit before. We are so tuned in the scales. You hang in there G.F. we are in this together. We are also tuned into failure. NOT THIS TIME. Later

You will lose it take time. Surgery is just a tool. Just followed your diet and exercise if you can.

Akgirl48, I'm here. Bummer about the stalled weight, but I think everyone is correct. We don't always lose weight all the time; it's weight, inches, shape, weight, inches, natural hair color, sanity, weight...you get the picture. Hang in there!

This discussion is a booster for me. Thanx for bringing it up.
I am 2 years, 3 months post-op. I lost 90+ pounds pretty effortlessly in the first year. Then it took me all of last year to lose another 20. I've been stuck here for over 6 months.
Since I also have MS - I am not very active - so my intake and 'output' must be pretty equal. I feel good here -- fit airplane and theater seats, and feel stronger - but I am still 20# from my 'minimal' goal - and 40# to my final goal. I KNOW what I have to do.
JUST GOT TO GET BACK TO BASICS -- more water -- more movement -- and journal food.

I know everyone must be aware that stress can cause a stall. Take it easy...one day, one week, one month at a time. It won't take long before you weigh what it says on your driver's licence! It will happen even if you don't change your hair colour. (and I did by the way!) Don't stress! Breathe! Go for a walk...drink your water...follow the yellow brick road. If you should happen to stall in munchkin land, just enjoy it! Have fun! You know the drill.
