Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I found that Wheat Thins seemed overly sweet to me. I think they may be rather high in sugars and low on whole grain fiber. A more fiber-rich item might work better in helping to stave off hunger between meals. A full-on protein snack would also work because it takes our bodies longer to digest protein. :)
The other thing may be the Wheat Thins themselves - I find if I eat even a little bit of carbs and sugar I seem MORE hungry instead of less.
I'm right there with you - right at 200 and can't wait to break through the wall on our downward spin - yippee!
Keep up the great work - it will all be worth it!
Isn't it odd to even lose weight in your feet? I went from a size 9 shoe to a size 7! I'm such a shoe whore! It was more difficult giving up my big shoes than it was to toss and share my big clothes.
I love crackers...any kind of cracker, but I had to give them up because the carbs seemed to stimulate my appetite. I traded all carbs for high protein snacks. Hard boiled eggs, string cheese and eventually I was able to chew and digest jerky. Salmon jerky is a great protein snack if you like smoked fish and it's softer than turkey or beef jerky.
Congratulations Diva! You ROCK!
