It definitely gets better. I had a white pita pizza tonight with all the LF trimmings, ate it off the bread and didn't even miss it! rd

I'm sorry, things do get better.

We will all have challenges we will have to overcome. It does get easier.

I'm sure we all feel this way at times. Keep your chin up!

Grieving the things we can no longer have can make us feel sad and alone. After all, no one in that room eating pizza really knows how you feel right now. BUT - be careful about withdrawing and feeling sorry for yourself. YOU are the strong one to be admired and I'm sure they would like your company no matter what you can or can't eat. You are there to enjoy their company so get in there and enjoy it!

My son and granddaughter came to visit a few days after my surgery and as with any visit it involved food. The last day they were here we went to Sizzler on the way to the airport. Sizzler is/was a big fave of mine. I ordered a glass of ice and a cup of decaf and had my protein drink. I realized how much more i could concentrate on the people I love. Usually, it was all about what i was eating, and what I was going to eat.

As the others say, it does get better. And sometimes it seems really hard.

The liquid pre-op is a bit of a challenge. Let them eat their pizza - you'll be just fine without it and looking too good for words sporting your new smaller clothes in just a matter of time.

Here's to good health and a day when you can have a "healthy" slice of pizza that fits into the program.

I feel ya!! I went through that Thursday night when everyone met up at my parents house for dinner....everyone was having chicken and I was having protein chicken soup...it was rough but that was easier for me than the weekend has been....like you said in your reply to my post...we are same date!!! We WILL get there! : )

Keep your sights on the prize! I went through a slight depression/felt sorry for myself the first couple of weeks post- op. I can now go to a restaurant and feel good about having just the soup or chicken salad while everyone else enjoys my former favorites. It's a lot of accepting who I am now - what I can and cannot eat - and feeling so much better as the pounds come off. As everyone else here has said - it does get better - and it's getting better for me each day (I'm only six weeks out). Hang in there!

It gets easier. I have had pizza with my husband, the thing is, I ate just the crust with some of the topping. It was more than enough.
