That is awesome... I think you will enjoy the company.... My hubby was by my side while in the hospital, but had to go back to work when I came home... The days are very long for me still... You are very blessed.... Treat him well....

Wow! What a sweetie! The first month is a real learning experience--learning what works for you and what doesn't, how to get your fluids in, how to eat very slowly.....it's a lot and having loving support will be a real blessing! :)

Thank you ladies. My husband is indeed an awesome man - like most he gets moody especially since turning 50ish but his love for me after 29 years remains steadfast, he is truly my rock. I couldn't have made it this far in my life without his undying support so I really should have known that he wouldn't let me down now. This will also give us a chance to start working on his ailments and get him back and forth to the doctors as well so they can start concentrating on his legs. I tell you this is truly where your vows come into place as you progress through the years. Love him to pieces and God for blessing me.

Be sure and warn him, you may not be yourself...was he there when you had your babies, and did you cuss him and all men and get kind of crazy? It might be something like that. You may cry, rage, need lots of babying or want to be left totally alone. You may mourn the food you want and can't eat, you may think not having something to crunch will kill you and he better GET OUT OF YOUR WAY and let you into that kitchen...LOL. It can be like a minefield! But as long as you both know that's possible, you will be better able to roll with it. I was lucky, my hubby had done it himself ten years or more ago so he knew it from the other side. Sometimes he just held me and said, "Sssshhh, you will be all right, it's just crazy like this at first..."

That is so sweet, you are one lucky lady. It will be so much easier to have him by your side during recovery.

ChocolatAmazon your not completely off the hook - see you in two hours. Yes, hubby was in the room when 2 of his three children were born, my oldest was before him but he married me and adopted him - only thing he didn't do was catch the babies when they came out lol. He is a wonderful dad to his children and had major jokes the whole time I was in labor, feeding me ice chips, rubbing my back and the whole nine and 29 years later he's still here applying the icy hot and ben gay when needed - so I think he can ride out the aftermath of the gastric bypass. It got kinda wild for me when he had knee surgery - which is the worst I've ever seen his disposition so we will weather it together. "The Vows" Thanking God we both honor them.

Wow, what a great guy!!

You have a wonderful husband for doing that. My hubby was only able to get four days off so we made it work. I have a 3 yr old and he was 2 at the time and thought we would need his mom to come stay with me but we didn't. Everything worked out and I was able to keep up with my 2 yr old (at the time of my surgery) and had no real pain. The more I walked the better I felt. Good luck with everything!!!
