I had RNY 6-18-13. I was considered a lightweight because I only ended to lose 95-100 lbs. In the first 6-7 months I lost the majority of the weight I lost. Since then, I haven't lost significantly. I am at a total of 80-85 lbs. I have gone from wearing 22-24 pants and 2-3x tops to 12 pants and medium shirts. The best thing is my diabetes is gone! According to "the charts", I need to lose 10-20 more. I don't care if I do or not! My surgeon told me that the best BMI for longevity is 28.2 and mine is 27.8. I am good!!

Wow, congrats to both of you! I have seen ppl plateauing and it seems its natural of weight loss. I think your body goes into this stall because its in a holding phase from routine. Best I found how to break this holding phase is to shake up the routine. Switch up your meals, supper at breakfast, lunch at dinner... exercise- swimming instead of jogging, if youre doing cardio in the morning and weight training in the evening, switch them around. Point is, shake up your routine, wake up the cells in your muscles and good luck!

You've done so well. Question please? Who picked the goal number? You, your doctor, or the AMA chart? I wonder sometimes if there's anything realistic about the one size fits all approach to normal weight?
My brother was in the marines, and they told him he weighed too much (he's never been overweight by the way). They put him on a diet, added weight to his pack, and ran him 'til he dropped. He convinced a doctor to do a body density test, he goes in a tank, they measure how much water he displaces, and measure that against his weight. They found he was almost 50 lbs UNDERweight, they marines had been starving him. My brother's a sinker. So I'm suspicious when I read charts saying what everyone should fit. Just sayin'.
