Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
My surgeon had a 5 week period of rest on the abdominal area unless the patient had been working out hard prior to surgery.
Use common sense, and just don't over do it.

Everyone is right - listen to your body and keep to within tolerable limits of pain.
Also it does depend on whether you were doing situps before surgery. If not, try starting with abdominal crunches. Do a search online for "abdominal exercise beginner".
Take it easy and focus on recovery.
