Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. Lately my computer has problems : (
The closer I get to goal the more I realize that a number of 125 is just that, a number.
It has nothing to do with how great I feel or how far I have come.
I also realize that there is about 20 pounds of excess skin to take into cosideration.
The other day my daughter remaked that you could literally see where the line for the excess skin on my arms (arms are the worst) begins.
She felt that without it my arms would actually be smaller than hers (runs in the family).
I also agree that age plays it's role.
My beauty queen pagent days are over however this doesn't mean that i can't still look damn good.
It just means that I no longer dream of weighing 98 pounds (I am 5 ft)
If I did weigh that little at this point in my life I would likely look scary
I think the reason I want to meet my goal is for my own personal satisfaction of setting and meeting this goal I have been working on prsctically my whole life.
Whether I understand the ins, outs and why's I have to say (and understandably so) meeting this goal woud really boost my self esteem after feeling like such a failure for years.
Any ways its great to hear from you I enjoy your post I know we are not suppose to compare weights however you are so close to me it helps to know i am on track. Hugs Angie
Good to hear I am not the only one.
My scale says 187 but my daughter swears it's 4 pounds off so possibly 183 (but who's counting ;)
I started at 265-260 (depends on who you talk to)
Today I wore my new Ed Hardy jeans (size 16 but a small 16) complete with skulls roses and BLING! (I Love them) with a creme Victorias Secret sweater (size L)
I swear that I was getting checked out (maybe I am just senile after all I am 51 ; )
I could cross my legs and everything WoW!
However I feel sad that I am still considered obese though and will have to make it to 148 to be overweight.
Oh boy I can't wait to be overweight!
You know sometimes it is more than just a number.
I could not get insurance at my job until I am at least overweight.
So some numbers do count.
If I do go on the table I may as well get a boob job and a tummy tuck as well.
Ohhh but a Brazilian butt lift would be the cherry on top : )
heaven forbid "Morbidly Obese" could they chosen a worse sounding phrase?
It always sounds to me like saying dying from fat....I guess in a way they were right, cause thats what I was doing...just slowly.
I totally agree with you when you say "The closer I get to goal the more I realize that a number"
Im like you 4.5 month out. My weight was 260 before the surgery and now im at 175, i have 15 more pounds to lose. I don't want to go below 160, i feel comfortably in my size 10 pants and (M/L) top. According to my doc. chart i still overweight :-)))) i don't mind to lose 15 more pounds after all i have one more jacket to fit in :-))))))))))

I don't regreat having the Gastric Bypass...It has gotten rid of ALOT of my health problems!! For that, I am forever grateful. I just wish, our financial situation, would improve so I could get protein in easier. It sucks going to food pantries and they give you meat BUT we have NO WAY to cook it!! We eat canned foods mostly...I cant afford protein bar, protein powders, or protein shots right.
Worse yet..I am in desperate need for FALL/Winter clothes for me and our daughter. BUT, I know somehow..The Lord will provide.
My main concerns are: Husband finding a JOB, US finding a permanent home, and for ME- a way to GET MORE PROTEIN IN! **ANY suggestions or ideas (considering my current situation!?? NO ELEC/NO REFRIGATION..NO COOLER..NO GRILL...*NO MONEY til 3rd of SEPT)
Is there anywhere we can send you some protien powder.
I know that there are people out there who have extra protien powder sitting around in their cupboards that they are not using.
If you had an address we could send this stuff to I am sure some of the members here would be glad to send their extra stuff.
I myself have only tried one kind of powder and that is Kaizen.
I can bag some of mine for you if you don't mind.
We need an address so we can send it though.
This subject really needs it's own post.
