The skin deal is just a bridge we all have to cross, you'll never know if it'll be an issue untill you're done with your journey. But as goofey as all that skin looks, it looks way better than a big pile of fat goo!

Yea . thank you. man I have more in to doing this . more than any thing in my hole life. the most i have ever lost , other than now is 80 lb, I am now down 124 (pre opp). so i am doing every thing I can to make a life long change for the better .

Excess skin doesn't get in the way nearly as much as excess fat. But I've been married for 37 years. If i were in your shoes I'd think about reconstructive surgery down the road. For now don't forget to moisterize Cheap way for me is Nivea Skin Firming Moisterizer. Around here you can get it for $9-10 for a good sized (13 oz maybe) bottle at Wal-Mart and some CVS stores. It works better on my neck than Stryvectin at 10 times the cost and 1/10 the amount. Also swim or do water aerobics, I know of several folks have done that, including a male friend and we all swear that it has made a real difference in skin elasticity. And we are all a lot older than you and so have less natural elasticity anyway.

Feeling good about yourself is a turn-on. Go for it.

Def. better no big bellies in the way! My hubby and I both had surgery and well, let's just say Life isn't fair!

My "girls" went away! I was a 44 big C little D. Now I am a 34 barely B and they disappear into my armpits when I lay on my back.

His "boy parts" got bigger! How freakin' fair is that? Only we BOTH win on that one.

Lu and Laura...you are crackin me up! :-)) I, myself, am planning on having a LOT of sex once I am skinny and energetic! I figure, extra skin or not, without all the fat in the way it's gotta be so much better! Plus, insurance will usually pay to get rid of the extra skin on your belly. I plan on taking advantage of that!

Well I have to tell you as an Army wife every other year or so my hubby get deployed for a year. This last deployment he left a 245 pound wife and returned a year later to an 165 pound wife. I have to tell you after a year of no sex and all the weight off and I am more flexible it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG is it so much better now!!

Yes it has! My husband lost weight on his own after I had the surgery... not only has the way I think of myself improved, the decrease in girth has allowed us to get "closer" than ever before! I'm down 60+ lbs and I'm surprised there is not too much excess skin, stretch marks yes.. but you cant see them in proper lighting!

OMG you guys are great! Lu and RD, whatever would we do without you?! And, welcome, Mike. This is a great place! I only wish I had found this before my surgery so I could have asked questions. But I have found it now, and what fun and great information, right from "the horse's mouth", so to say! Thanks everyone. Notice I didn't mention the sex issue??!!! :-)

I just knew when I saw SEX, Lu would have something to say about it...LOL And RD, I would have to agree, just not fair, but having the benefit of the increases makes it much easier to handle...lol

54+ pounds down here and what a difference!! Fat is much worse than skin.

Thank you for your post.... interesting question..... I say the more energy the more sex....IMHO. Also, a lot of people feel more confident after losing all that weight.... That is sure to improve your sex life. :)
