Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
For me I decided that I spent the last 46 years eating like crap. I personally felt like I needed the extra kick in the but to put me on the right track. According to my Dr and my nutritionist there is about a 80% success rate. According to them they say your odds are better if you stick with a support group.
Other things to consider, are the people that are close to you going to support you. It is nice to have people around you that understand your struggles with food
I say, yup! Totally normal. I had researched for years prior to surgery so my “well if...” thoughts were very brief. I couldn’t count how many pounds I’d lost and regained, plus more each time.
When I chose to do this I decided to shift my thinking and speaking about the process. Instead of losing weight I changed to shedding weight. I shed the fat suit like a coat. Of course, in reality, there is still some regain but now we have better tools. I haven’t regretted RNY for a second and I am 7 1/2 years out.
Congratulations on making the choice to change your way of life and living!
