Warning... this will probably be long and brambly :) Read at own risk!!

Sometimes we look in the wrong places for the things we need....

You see... I listen to music TEDtalks, lectures, and when studying, I even listen to ocean waves and other nature sounds on my Mp3 player a lot!

As I was leaving the library to walk to class the other day, I go to put the ear buds in my ears and turn on some music. But one of the little, soft rubber pieces was missing on one of them... i had just been using them while at the computer, so I turned around to go looking for this darn little rubber thingy....

I retrace my steps, back thru the library, to the printer, even into the bathroom and stall I was using... I did this twice! no luck of course to find the little suckers... :)

So, off I go to class, sticking in the one ear the hard plastic part that's under the soft, rubbery piece.... I know it seems silly. It really was no big deal, but I was irritated i had lost this piece...

i go to class.... and then stop at the restroom again before heading off to my next class.... the pants I had on have cuffs.... And as I was sitting down on the pot (I know... TMI!) out pops my little rubbery piece from the cuff! Boink! There is was!!

As I was walking to my next class, with both ear buds comfortably in place.... It hit me!

We often look so hard for what we need outside of ourselves... we search everywhere for the answer.... We expect others to have the answer... to have what we need... to fulfill us... we expect to find it all "out there" on a hallway floor or in a bathroom stall (ok, so maybe not those places! LOL! But you get the idea!)...

But what we don't realize is that more often that not... what we need, we already have! We just have to discover we have it :)

Maybe the strength we need, the personal power, the perseverance, the knowledge and courage.... the tenacity and backbone... all that stuff we need and often look outside ourselves for... was just stuck in our pant cuff all along :)
