Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

I wish you success in finding your way! I think having support, like this group, and being able to reach out, is a good step to keep us moving forward....
After 3 1/2 years out, I just have to keep in mind that my surgery was a tool, not a cure. I have to keep choosing to use the tool, eat my proteins, get my fluids in (so many times I think I'm hungry, but it's actually thirst), and then start to fill out the diet with low carb veg and fruits. Eating that way helps me stay full and satiated and avoid foods that aren't healthy for us: sugar and carb laden processed crap.
As for the emotional eating, I would suggest getting some in person support would be a big help. It's great that you share here, and I'm glad you do. We really care. However, when you meet with a support group or counselor, there's accountability that is hard to attain here. That and an actual hug can make a big difference on a stress filled day. It's a definite concern if you're eating to the point of illness. I hope you find the support and encouragement you need to find healthy ways to deal with your stress and triggers. Take care.
