I'm 2 and 1/2 weeks post op and doing very well. But today we went to visit my daughter, son in law and grandkids. An occasion usually dominated by you guessed it, food. Particularly pizza. Then when we got home my wife had a slice of pizza for supper, left over from her job.
I statred getting irritable, questioning what I've done, etc as i ate a few teaspoons of chicken then banana. But I do feel a little better already. I knew there would be days like this.

I totally understand some days it just felt like everyone was eating things that were so good just to make me miserable.I would get really grouchy. Then I got over myself because I realized they needed to eat for themselves and not for me. Hang in there! It does get better!

I am 4+weeks out. It gets better. I felt like that, a little sad, annoyed, and questioned my decision. I think it's part of the process. I'm so much better only 1 1/2 weeks later. Once you can add variety to your diet you don't feel deprived as much.

LOL wait until you're skinny and they can't stand the sight of you. True shit! Plus always remember lu's rule on choosing family, you don't get to. Unlike friends, you get to choose those back stabbing SOBs.

But to the point, this is a you deal, your decision, your life,your journey, your health, your happiness.....

You'll be just fine, stay to the program, stick around the girls, learn and thrive!

honor your journey but recognized everyone else's life doesn't change or alter because your's has....if you need help or support or less food around you then it is UP TO YOU to ask for that.

People who are not in your position usually don't understand how much it can affect us. They also can't guess what you need. TELL THEM.

Today is my second day on the liquid diet....preparing for the big day. I felt great until I walked by the neighbors doorway and could smell something wonderful being prepared. I hear what you are saying as our gatherings were also dominated by food. This is when I wish I had a cabin in the back forty so I could hide away while I overcome my need for fried chicken, pizza, etc. and so my crabbiness does not alienate everyone I know. In the end we'll be happier and healthier....you can do it and so can I.
