I think chew-able is the best way to go for the most absorption. people with a whole stomachs don't absorb all the vitamins in a supplement that's swallowed. Those pulls spend even less time in us gastric bypass patients. My opinion is stick to chew-able and I highly recommend using the ones that are specifically made for us. (celebrity, fusion, etc,)

They let me take pill form right from the beginning. No issues.

I was permitted to begin to swallow pills just three weeks PO. However, I had the RNY bypass, so my system doesn't absolve nutrients as it did prior to surgery. So I still take the bariatric vitamins. You might want to ask you surgeon what you can expect.

I think I was about a month out when I started swallowing my pills whole.

My nut and surgeon said we will always absorb the chewables better... so that's what I take. Centrum chewables to be exact. But many others take the regular... :)

I am not allowed the gummies .....never was, because of my issues i was 2 years out and i take centrum adult. they seem good. my nut also suggest Flintstones sometimes.

my first attempt at vitimins was about 4 weeks post op i took them just fine but my body had high levels of many things so until i had a surgery on the gland causing it i couldn't do well didn't need supplements.

I always advocate getting peoples opinions then taking them to your nut or surgeon your blood levels may indicate a completely different need them mine or others

I was told two weeks out. I was also told not to use the gummie vitamins at all .

I was also told no gummies because they don't typically have the same amount of vitamins. I take chewables. Haven't asked about swallowing myself but I don't mind the chewables at all.

Thank you guys so much, I'm going to ask my nutritionists when I go on Thursday. She never said anything about taking gummy vitamins but I feel like I don't get enough from them.
