Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Most of us were really good at following diets, but they just didn't work. At least that was my experience. I'd lost 15 to 25 lb. Then the weight loss would just stop. Even though I would continue the diet indefinitely. That's why even the National Institutes Of Health states on its web site under the subject of obesity that "diets do not work."
So that is why we all seem to harbor the fear that gastric bypass won't work either. But if you follow the program, there is no way that you will fail to lose.
For me, GBS was a life-saver.
becca is right, so don't believe every thought that pops into your head--especially those that put your down.
This is no different than any other diet in the world, other than the medical instutution and made it so physical hunger does not try to control me. I still have to stay one track for the rest of my life. I will NEVER be able to eat like I did one year ago.
I only exercised until this summer by walking around sams club or walmart. I still lost at the time of my revision 170 lbs.
Im not saying do this ......follow your program listen to your doctors and nuts . If in doubt about something listen to them above anyone. they would not be in practice if they weren't pulling good stats. if it impacts your success or health .....suggestions are great but a licensed doctor is better. I know I know I push that all the time but you all who have not been through issues like some of us never never want to know or get to our point.
Bottom line like becca and the others said follow your program. If you have special needs call your nut or surgeon and work as close to them as you can they know how to adjust what you need.
team bariatric you all are all stars.
