I'm still pre-op so I can't speak from experience, but my game plan for this very issue to is to be vigilant about measuring and weighing my servings and knowing that even if my body/pouch hasn't given me the cue to stop yet, my empty plate will get the point across. I have a hard time telling myself when I'm full as it is, and I know it's mostly a head game. I don't expect surgery on my stomach to fix my head so I plan to constantly stay 1 step ahead of it. Hope that makes sense.

Not certain but it sounds like a lot to me for a week and a half out. I think you should consult the surgeon's office

I have 23 days to go til my ReBirthday (but who's counting?), but my doc and nutritionist told me that I should immediately stop eating as soon as I START to feel full. If I were to keep eating beyond that point, let's just say it would not be pretty. Can you listen very carefully to your body and compare how you feel when you start to eat with how you feel when your plate is empty? Good luck!

Are you eating while doing other things? A lot of times that can cause us to miss the cues. Sometimes it can be a burp, runny nose, a hiccup or food will start to taste differently. We just have to figure out which one we have as individuals. Good luck!

5 months out and sometimes I still have no indication, so I pay attention to serving size. I only serve myself the amount I'm supposed to have, and if I finish that, fine. If I don't (and sometimes I do feel full) then I don't finish it. Although I STILL struggle with leaving food on my plate. It just feels so weird to do that. But I'm getting better at it all the time :-)

Measuring is great but you still may not need to eat what you measure. Leaving food on our plate is a very real learning experience to be OK with that. I agree with bouvier that doing other things while were eating can make us miss the subtle signs. For me it is usually a gentle tickle and if I don't stop then I get too full. Tuning into our bodies and learning to be aware of our signs is a unique part of our process. The fact that you are measuring and keeping small portions does help to keep you from getting a full feeling which is often too late for people. Don't worry because this means you are doing what you need to do. Too many people feel the need to test and go beyond, and inevitably suffer. It is good that you are not choosing to suffer.

Yeah, i am listening but my body it isn't talking as of yet - but maybe i'm just hard of hearing :--))! it is hard to stop - especially when you think you are doing great by measuring and yet you are still eating too much. Leaving even a bite of food on my plate is very difficult - stupid head hunger!! Thanks all!

I didn't experience my soft cues until I got to soft foods. The liquids and purees didn't stay put long enough for me to notice. Like you, I was measuring to make sure I didn't risk any strains on my suture line, having had the sleeve, so I didn't feel "full" until later on.

If your TELL isn't kicking in as yet I guess you will have to measure until it does.
My nose runs, I hear folks have various "Tells" maybe you haven't recognized yours yet.
