Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
In the first few months after surgery I took every opportunity to get fiber in. Bought the Fiber One cottage cheese and did the Fiber Crystal Light and took the occasional fiber chewable. After that though didn't need them. I get enough fiber from veggies and whole grain bread. Constipation has not been an issue for me. Water is, of course, crucial.
Since there is really no way to tell how you are going to feel afterwards, I would make sure that you have those things on hand. They should send you home with anti-nausea meds.
Good luck!!

I didn't need any of that.
I never needed anything for nausea and my pain meds were typically only used at night for the first few days.
My suggestion is that if you feel uncomfortable with this person and the responses you are getting, please say something.
