I have been wanting to ask this for a while. Everyone says nothing is too personal - so here goes.

I know that after WLS your bowel habits change. Size and frequency make sense to me, but color? What color should your poop be after RNY?

Any answers are appreciated!

I would think... at least from my experience, color has a lot to do with food choices and colors. :) :)

I say if things are moving regularly, then all is good!

Like becca said, it has a lot to do with what you eat, more dairy lighter/whiter etc., eat beets, lol its red!

Yeah, what you eat makes sense to effect the color. I am having no problem with movement (with ground flax seed, great stuff!). But with basically eating meats and just a FEW veggies and one protein shake in the morning, I am wondering why a deep green. Not concerned, just curious.

I am still in the soft/pured stage. But the other day I snuck a wee bit of spinach into my couscous for dinner. (Seriously, only about 1/4 teaspoon of spinach.) The next morning, not only did I have a "cleansing" event, but it was deep green. I attributed it all to the spinach, since that was the only thing that was different in my diet.

Mine changed to a mustard-y yellow and have stayed that color since surgery (almost 7 months). I researched it early on and found a reason that made sense to me (can't remember what it was). So I don't worry about it now.

It does change.. size, consistency, and color. If you see anyting unusual don't hesitate to call yoru doctor (red and black would be the colors to really be concerned with) Oh and the "toots" that go along with the new way of eating....... Yikes! My family is about to lock me out of the house.

I'm 16 months out, and mine has changed completely...size, color, consistence, and frequency. Sometimes it changes day to day too!

Hi - mine is usually dark green because of the iron I have to take. At my 6 month visit I got a handout on poop and they said it will never be the same again. It might float, sink it do anything in between. So now I don't freak out because it be different every day :)

Pre-op poop comment, LOL!!

When I went on the Atkins diet, it was high on protein.. Mine was greenish like you are saying.

I ate a lot of protein and veggies on it. I think it has something to do with your ketones...And, their is a urine stick you buy at the pharmacy to check this. I think it also ties in with your electrolites....

ck the web on what I just said, but that's what I remember it representing.
