I've been using BodyTech. Has 24g protein and 3 carbs per 8 oz serving. Mixes well in water or milk.

What is the problem with blended protein? That is what I have been drinking is the reason I ask.

Only thing I could stomach were the sugar free Carnation Breakfasts with milk. With the sleeve, I didn't have any lactose issues, but I hear they're OK with almond or soy milk too.

JFlo, apparently whey and soy isolate are best absorbed by our new bodies. Other types aren't absorbed as well. With blended drinks only a portion of the blend is whey isolate (some varieties don't contain any at all) If a blended drink says it has 30 grams of protein, we are probably not getting all 30 grams. I just want the most bang for my protein buck :-) I am probably being over-cautious. I haven't actually asked my NUT about it. Maybe some of our more seasoned WLS posters here can let us know what they think about it.

I love About Time the best of any I've had. I get the cinnamon swirl through Amazon. 25 G protein, whey protein isolate, non GMO, lactose free, gluten free, no artificial sweeteners, with stevia inside which is a plant for sweetening. It does not taste sweet. I can't take the sweet ones. It has a VERY short list of ingredients which works for me. I use it for my protein coffee every morning. Body fortress is also a good protein, not too sweet, that can be found for cheap at Walmart. It has 30 g of protein. I've known many people who use this who do just fine even though it is a blend. In my years here I don't recall any posts saying that blends are not as good

The pure whey is also supposedly absorbed and digested better. The blended concentrate and isolate type of protein powders contain less "net" % of protein, are cheaper, and have more ingredients. Not everyone can afford the expensive proteins however. Some of those protein powders ARE expensive! I am definitely trying to find out what all my options are and hopefully find one that is more in my budget as well. Thanks for the info!

I have a very sensitive nose and tastebuds when it comes to the protein...I buy Pure protein from bariatric eating in the chocolate peanut butter and the unflavored ( I will eventually try more flavors) I mix the unflavored with a little water and into my smoothies I make with berries/peaches/froz pinapple and add either plain fage or light and fit greek toasted coconut yogurt, that way I get 30grm of protein in a smoothy...it does take a good 45-60 min to drink it up! I like corepower lite chocolate or atkins milk or dark chocolate premade drinks. I have also stumbled across P28, they have bread, bagels and wraps with high protein counts as well as nut spreads and pancake mixes, I bought the sample box and ate a 1/2 slice of the bread toasted today with the orig nut spread, so I had 7grm of protein in the 1/2 slice of bread plus what was in the nut spread and I have to say that 1/2 slice filled me up! and it was so good to have a piece of toast again! I drank a premade prot drink midmorning to get in a little more for the morning. I use the premier drinks in my mixer and add froz strawberries or bannanas with it!

The Premier Protein is still fine - its one of the few endorsed by my very thorough after care program - I still use it regularly :)

I was always lactose intolerant, so I use egg white protein, which by the way is getting harder and harder to find. The Brand I use is Healthy & Fit Egg White Protein, and can be purchased at Vitamin Shoppe it is pricey, so I watch for the web discounts and coupons, and then stock up. It comes in four flavors Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry & Banana, and is not lumpy or gritty when using a shaker cup with the blender ball.

I like Muscle Milk.

I like the Premier both in Chocolate and Strawberry.

My morning protein shake for the past 2 years:

Put about a cup of water in blender. Add
1 scoop of Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, Extreme Milk Chocolate
1 scoop of Metabolic Nutrition Protizyme, Peanut Butter Cookie
1 serving each of L glutamine and creatine
Blend

Add plastic cup full of ice - blend until it is a smoothie consistency. Put half in a cup and drink with a large smoothie straw. Put the other half in the plastic cup used for ice and put in freezer until I finish the first half.

It's like a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup in my mouth!!

The protein I like the most is flavorless because I have yet to meet a good protein in different flavors. Even my favorite chocolate seems bad to me. But this flavorless protein I add even to baked goods gym-expert.com/best-unflavored-protein-powder/. It turns out very cool.
