Hello everyone,
I had a question?? I started my pre op diet on Wednesday; my doctor uses Bariatric Advantage protein shakes I use two per day. they are giving me green diarrhea...anyone else use these or experience this side effect from them?

I never used Bariatric Advantage protein. I liked the flavored Nectar protein powders pre op although they were too sweet post op. Tastes change pre and post op so don't stock up. Be sure that the store you buy from takes returns because it might take a while to find proteins you like. An inexpensive protein powder that tastes good too is Body Fortress which can be found at Walmart. Currently, I use About Time's Cinnamon Swirl in my protein coffee every morning which isn't too sweet either. It uses stevia instead of artificial sweeteners. Please call your doctors office because you shouldn't be having green diarrhea

I never tried that brand. My doctor told me to use sugar free Carnation instant breakfast and fat free milk.
To me the pre op liquid diet was the hardest part. It was all willpower. But the end result is so worth it!

LCat is so right need! Don't buy a LOT of stuff pre-surgery that you think you might need. I was soooo overstocked on items that I have never been able to use or didn't like. Also a good idea to check with your doctor about diarrhea.

I remember green poop early on. I inquired about it and was told not to worry about it.

I called my dr. the protein shake is "cleaning me out" I never thought it would be so hard to come off carbs. The diarrhea is much better and the cramping I was having has gone away for the most part. The weekend was hard not being busy enough gave me time to think about things I should not eat. I went to the food store for a few things and felt like I was going to have a panic attack because the smell of the bakery. Sweets and things that are not good for me were everywhere. I never seemed to notice that before. Anyway I am on my way I have one more week then surgery on the 27th. I am super excited and that is carrying me through. Thank you everyone for your kind words.

I am using the Bariatric Advantage for my pre-surgery also and I am experiencing the same thing.

Sweetpea it is definitely not an enjoyable side effect. and I have been on it for over a week now and it still happens. at least it is only two weeks. LOL good luck, what day is your surgery? Mine is on the 27th of May.

I had some side effects like that, and am still more susceptible to diarrhea than I ever was before my surgery 4.5 years ago, but it's a small price to pay for better health. Just make sure you stay hydrated. So excited for you, getting close to your surgery!

My Bypass is scheduled for May 27th also. I am counting the days.
Little nervous but excited also.
