Don't starve yourself! Everything in moderation is ok at this point. Just keep an eye on the calories, sugar and portions! I didn't do so well on keeping a log either. Try the app my fitness pal, may help some.

Your preop diet is very important for your saftey during your surgery, I know, It's miserable! Most of us had to do it 2 weeks some less. They told me it was to shrink the liver so they could operate around it without damaging it.
I didn't log and still don't. I spect it is a good idea. Just too lazy to do so. I did however stick to my doctor's program and it worked very well.
Now 13 months and 130 pounds lighter I still think the preop liquid diet was the hardest part.

With Kaiser they required a 6month program where you had to log everything you ate. I wasn't allowed to use an app on my phone. It had to be on paper so I bought a notebook and took it everywhere. It was hard and sometimes I wouldn't remember to write every meal but would do it the next day. You can do!

I'm on my two week preop diet and find that the phone app MyFitnessPal is a GREAT help. It makes tracking so easy. You can just scan foods in, and you can add your favorite foods too.

My fitness pal is free and helped me out. I honestly was never good at tracking, still am not lol Just to much effort I suppose. What i did that made my life easier, is I bought baby plates & silverware. I also purchased child sized cups. The idea of eating and drinking smaller helped me a ton! If it was on the plate i could eat it. Once I was done..that was it! I am post op surgery for going on three months the 15th of this month. I still use my child size plates etc. I never finish whats on my plate..if you can believe that LOL Not sure if this will help you...but it's what has worked for me.

forgot to mention...BEANO works wonders and you can buy the kind that dissolves in your mouth! I highly recommend this for the gas! :)

I agree that keeping a log is HARD, but i did it post op, and it helped me a great deal. im 5 weeks out of surgery and my logs have been my savior. It may be tedious, but in the long run it will help you keep track of what you eat, and how you feel after, so you know what foods to stay away from. I do tums or gas x for the bloating, 10 minutes after a meal just to keep my stomach of hurting due to gas. Good luck.
