Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
That's great you were able to put on some weight and complete a healthy pregnancy, and you have the tools and knowledge to drop the 25. Protein, liquids and moving.
There are some really fun mother/baby exercise classes in most communities. Great bonding time, fun community, and you get to move it, move it, move it!
Just make sure you check with your doctor if you're nursing. The 25 lbs. can wait until after you're finished providing all the nutrition and calories your son needs.
So happy for you!
My pregnancy was difficult food wise at certain stages - and I started eating foods I hadn't touched since surgery - mainly crackers and bread (toast was all I could handle some days). Unfortunately those are my downfalls ... Refined white carbs will be the end of me.
I ordered some of my favorite protein powders yesterday and am going to get back to basics when they arrive on Monday - I think I may go all shakes all meals for a few days and see if I can get rid of these terrible carb cravings ... And I am going to fix my house of all the crackers today :)
Got to lose this weight ... We are going to be trying for baby #2 before the end of the year (I'm not getting any younger!)
