I'm used to a full cup, bowl, plate, whatever. A normal sized bowl with a third of a cup of yogurt in it doesn't do it for me. So I found some pretty espresso cups that I use now for yogurt and soup - pretty much anything I would use a bowl or mug for. But I'm battling to find plates that are small enough that I can use them and pretend that they're the real thing. Even side plates are way too big. Does anybody have any suggestions? Have I not looked far and wide enough?

I'm sure in time I will adjust to small portions but I think this will make it easier.

Do you live in the UK antjie? Some supermarkets sell disposal plates which seem tiny - I wonder if they would do it?

I'm in South Africa, but will roam the stores and see what they have - still on sick leave, so have lots of time!

Child plates or toy tea set plates. Decorative mini plates. I'm always on the lookout for cute small plates and bowls. I've got a nice collection.

In some specialty stores in the kitchen dept they have what are called "small plates" that are intended for appetizer portions. Perhaps you could try to locate these. d

I JUST USE A SAUCER SIZE FOR ALL MY MEALS - THAT WAY I KNOW I AM NOT HAVING MORE THAN I SHOULD.

TRY IKEA - THEY HAVE LOTS OF DISHES ETC IN PRETTY COLORS AND DESIGNS!!

I use appetizer plates that I found at the grocery store. I also use these little appetizer bowls. They are pretty bright colors and work perfectly. I also use a the smaller salad forks and the smaller teaspoons not soup spoons.

I'm with Lcat4 - go to Walmart or Toys R Us and buy a nice ceramic/china child's tea set.

In fact, I might do that for myself!

I always use a saucer no materre what I am having unless its soup then its a small cup.

I've been replacing the plates in my house with smaller ones too. I have yet to find nice, little plates. At walmart they have little custard type cups/bowls. I think those would work Great!!!
