I have had a problem with my tummy recently and I would like to hear from fellow Canadians (just because we all have the same universal health care) about how to go about applying for a Pannelectomy. I know a tummy tuck is not covered but the panneclectomy can be, I don't need to be a Brazilian bombshell at 51 but i would like to correct this problem. The doctor gave me some creme but recently much to my horror I have been bleeding under the pannis (?) . My family doctor is clueless about such things. Everything I have done thus far I have initiated do I don't expect this to be any different.

Im not familiar with the insurance coverage in Canada but out here the bariatric surgeon is the one that documents any skin rashes associated with the loose skin. Your surgeon can then give you a referral to a plastic surgeon or specialist that is equipped to deal with this sort of stuff. Do take pictures and present them to the gastric surgeon and to whomever he may refer you to. Document everything, date, time, treatments, appointments as you will have better chances of getting in sooner and hopefully covered by your insurance.
Although this is due to the surgery your insurance will not cover it?
I am from canada, i live in alberta and if you have complications due to the loose skin you need to see your doctor and ask for a referral to a plastic surgeon. My gbs doc is the one i go see in about a year and if a tummy tuck is needed it is covered. So i find it hard to understand why your wouldnt be as well.
Get a referral as soon as you can! Even ask your bariatric doctor who you should be referred to.

When I see my GBS surgeon next I will ask him what to do next.
This is the first I have actually been bleeding there but I had a nagging suspicion that I should have done more than I did.
I should have had my daughter take a picture of it.

I don't really fancy walking around slathered up with creme for the rest of my life...ya know...
