Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Just in the last couple of years I have developed a periodic muscle cramp in one spot around my stomach location that kicks in when I do anything resembling a sit up or crunch. The only way I can make it go away is to immediately do a modified cobra pose. I figure it is scar tissue. I get it worked occasionally when I get bodywork.
Definitely call your doctor!
When I had my surgery in November, it took about four hours because the doc took two hours removing scar tissue from my previous abdominal surgeries (long story). Long story short--I had been having severe back pain previous to this surgery and when I went home from the hospital I had no more back pain! Adhesions can create quite a problem in various parts of your abdomen and back.
If you develop a fever and vomiting go right to the ER, however, as it could be appendicitis.
