Sorry in advance for any typos, my pupils are dilated again today and everything is blurry so I can't really see what I'm typing..
I went to the retinal specialist today to have my eye looked at and I feel much better afterwards.. I have a macular edema.. here's how he explained it to me..
When he's looking into my eye with the looking glass thing he's looking into a round room, and the retina is the wallpaper lining the walls of the room. There is a a pocket of fluid trapped between the wallpaper and the wall. Nothing caused it, it just happens. There is also a possibility that stress could cause it but they don't know for sure.
He showed me pictures that they took of both my eyes and there was an obvious black spot where the fluid buildup was, and he layed everything out for me and made sure I understood clearly what he was explaining.
The good news: Nobody has ever gone blind from this, and about 98% of people who get it never get it again (thank GOD)
The bad news: There really isn't anything that can be done about it. I have to wait it out and deal with it and see if it heals itself. We can wait up to as much as 3 months, I HOPE it doesn't take that long to go away cause I'm gonna have to buy stock in Tylenol. If it doesn't go away by then they can shoot me up with dye to highlight my blood vessels and shoot a laser at it to seal it off, but we'll talk about that later.. yikes!
It was funny because he wrote down the name of the procedure and said I could Google it for more information. Technology sure has changed things! lol He did a really good job helping me understand everything though.

So drops or anything will not help you at this time? Just a waiting game?

Sorry sorry to hear about your headache/vision woes! I hope that you feel better real soon and perhaps some steriod drops in the interium? I know people post op cateract surgery sometimes develop this and it helps 'em out while their waiting it out.
