Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I just read through my 2 year surgiversary journal post to see if it triggered any memories of year 2 (I'm 6 1/2 years out)... Here's what I said, I'm learning to live as a thin person and 'get comfortable in my own skin.' I am still learning this new body is my 'new normal.'"
I got really into exercise during year 2 - overdid it in year 3 and had to go to physical therapy :( It can be a bit of an emotional let-down when you hit maintenance, because eventually, people stop marveling over how great you look every time they see you!
Stay vigilant about your vitamins, water, rest, etc. Keep doin' the deal!! Again, congrats!
