Wow, congratulations on getting off insulin and shedding the pounds! My whole belly was purple so I can relate to the hit by a car look. That is horrible about your surgeon and your experience. Sounds like he is in the wrong business. If you have a counselor I encourage you to talk through your experience. Journaling and EFT help too. It is important to your healing to get the emotional trauma out of your body. Someone once said that in order to clean your house, you have to first see the dirt. So for optimal healing you want to process your negative emotions and the experience so that you can heal.

So sorry you had a bad experience with your surgeon. It sounded like you had such a good group of Bariatric specialist and support system in the beginning of your journey. What a shame to be disappointed and so let down. LCat is right. Get things in order, address your issues and move on. Hope you're feeling much better by now.

Today is first day off pain meds. Pain is tolerable and gas is gone. Kept asking God to relieve me of the resentment toward the surgeon. I have some great friends who are therapists and I've chosen to only discuss it with them, not all my friends who would join in on my resentments. Got to something that felt clean tonight.

"I'm disappointed in the the way you responded to my call when I was in terrible pain two days after surgery. You insisted I meet you at your hospital ER so you could see me. I drove past three hospitals on the way to yours and saw you there but was told by the nurse that you would not be seeing me you would let the ER Doctor know what tests to run. I asked why you would ask me to come there if you weren't going to see me and she said that you had three other Bariatric patients in the ER that night. . After eight hours they said you had approved a day and a half of pain medication and the sent me home at 11:00pm. I called two days later to tell you the pain hadn't let up and all you could say is you don't know why I was in pain. I hung up and went to urgent care. I would like your commitment that should anything else come up during my recovery that you would respond in a timely and responsible way.

Maybe just typing this will help me release the anger.

This is such an important part of my future I want to leave the yuck behind me. I have therapy next Thursday and I'm part of two hospital support groups.

Resting, sipping and walking. Today I was more tired than before. I have no idea how the dogs will ever go back to three walks a day.

I think tomorrow will start pured foods. Craving eggs mostly because they are hot and not soup.

Excellent response to the doctor! You wrote from your heart and didn't project blame. Hopefully he will here you. Having energy one day and not another is common so just go with it and rest when you need to. Listen to your body. Eggs are good chewed well for pured. I never blended anything but chewed everything to mush as my pure. Keep on keeping on!

I think it is telling that your surgeon had three other bariatric patients in the ER on the same day that you were there. I find that very interesting.

My surgeon rarely encountered patients with PO pain issues. I had very little pain, PO, and did not take pain meds when I went home.

It really does matter how the surgery is done and exactly what is done.

I hope that you have no further need of that particular surgeon.

Also, when I encounter a hateful person, such as the callous attitude displayed by your surgeon, I remind myself how blessed I am that I am not living in their heads. I just can't imagine the kind of self-talk that goes on in someone's mind when they act so badly toward other people. It can't be good.
