Today was a tough day for me... and reminded me of why I am going to have this surgery.
Let me explain. I transferred this last Sept. to the University of Oregon from a community college in central Oregon. At the community college, I was older than most students (I am 52), but there were still many my age.
I took MANY fitness classes while there, and even tho I was in a minority (age, size), I was not alone!
This term I registered for 2 fitness classes for winter term at U of O. First PE classes I have taken here. I knew from last term that I was in a much smaller minority than at the community college, which was no surprise.
What I didn't give much thought on... was how different the PE classes would be! EVERYONE in my first class is young (Like I could be their mothers!) and thin! Even the bigger ones were not fat!
It was a rough 50 minutes being in that room with all those young, healthy and fit "kids"... feeling old, unhealthy and very unfit and fat!
But I stuck it out... did all that I could do... worked up a sweat... and survived!
I just kept telling myself that I was in the right place, doing the right thing.
Tomorrow is my first day at woman's strength training class... I hope to survive that too!
It is what it is... All I can do, I am doing... So I have to just let it be and KEEP GOING BACK! :)

P.S. I did have to remind the instructor I was old and fat, so as long as I kept moving I was better off than sitting at home watching TV...she agreed!
