OMG!!! Pain after eating....

I am in agony. Tonite I had a small piece of roll with some sloppy joe on it. I was immediately uncomfortable and vomited up some of it. This was the first time for this food. Then 3 hours later because I felt fine, I had 3/4 cup of bean soup which I chewed real well. I have bean soup every day with no problems at all. Immediately I felt terrible cramping like lower in the intestines not in the pouch area. It's been going on now for an 1 1/2 hours and I am hurting. I don't feel like vomiting or feel like I'm dumping but I'm so confused as to why this is happening. This is the first time this has happened. I'm 7 weeks post op. Please advise if you can.

I am sorry you are feeling so terrible! I have not had this experience, but I am going to guess the roll has swelled up. I have been told no bread because of this possibility. I hope Sarge replies. He was told to get papaya pills to help with this type of issue, I think. Look back at some of his posts or comments to see if you can find it. Hope you feel better soon!

It's 2 things that I am having issues with too. It's the grease from the sloppy joe mix and it's also the tomato sauce in the mix. If I eat anything with grease or anything with tomato sauce, I experience bad pain in my chest and vomit soon after. The vomiting does not stop for the rest of the night. It gets so bad that I dry heave. With the tomato sauce, my family and I have figured it's not tomatoes (since I can have creamy tomato soup without incident) but the spices and herbs in the sauces. So for now, I'm staying far away from both. 4 weeks post-op. Feel better. Merry Christmas!

I'd for sure stay away from the bread.... But I'd also suggest calling the doc! Better safe than sorry... especially if it does it the next time you eat.

sometimes people get strictures, they are easy to fix, but prevent the food from going down...

I'd first call my doctor.

But I think maybe sloppy Joe is a bit risky anyway. As bouvier mentioned my doctor told me to chew about 4 papaya enzymne tablets every 2 hours but that was for when I had a piece of apple peel stuck. I have used them for other belly aches too.

You are still not too far out from your surgery. A lot of things may make you sick that won't at a later date.

I know programs are different, but I know I am not allowed breads/carbs for 6 months. I would stay away from them entirely. Stick to protein. Bland protein. I am not even allowed veggies much. Maybe 1 baby carrot or a taste of something else. I am also not allowed sauces until 6 weeks post. Maybe try that approach. Hope you feel better, but Becca is right get it checked.

So sorry this happened. 7 weeks out is way too early for rolls. I was three months before I could even try them. It could be gas from the beans or just the quantity. 3/4 of a cup was way more than I was allowed to eat at that stage.

I believe it may also be the roll. I've been told everything toasted for the 1st year and even with that I am scared, so I eat rice crackers, very low calories, no fat, "crunchy" and I haven't had a problem with them. I do have problems eating alot of solids and I am 5 months post op. I mainly eat, Kashi, yogurt, cottage cheese and sugar free ice pops. I believe by now I should be able to eat little more, but my stomach cannot handle it. I see the surgeon tomorrow, hope there is a simple answer and not another endoscopy. Good luck Cherierae

Hopefully things calmed down for you. I'm with the others.it was probably the roll. However, I'd also stay away from tomato based products for a couple more months. Another thing; my program said if I threw up I should stick to liquids for the rest of the day (24 hours).
