I pray all is well when you go for your cardiology follow up. Maybe you just need some meds.

I have an irregular heartbeat hun and have had it for may years..as do tons of other folks, especially atheletes. Lets pray its something like this that doesnt stop your surgery and that you're well!

Well I talked with the surgeon who got the report after my pcp and he said he was looking at it and it was something they have seen a lot and it really isn't that serious in most cases. Just one small part of my heart isn't as active as the rest of the heart. He didn't see this being a major problem and said that more than likely my tentative date will turn into the real one and this won't cause problems for the surgery. I think its time to find a new pcp because he seems to be leaving scheduling staff to call about problems and not explaining anything at all or even have his nurse explain something. I mean crap he's had the report since yesterday and couldn't take it upon himself to call me in for an appointment and explain a bit yet my surgeon just barely got the report today and called within a half an hour of getting the report and explained to me what was found and what needed to be done and that I needed to get in with the specialist so that he could clear it. I feel better since talking to my surgeon and really think I need to find a new pcp who is going to take time to care for me.

It makes all the difference in the world when you have a pcp that works well with you. It is a difficult time to change doctors when you are so close to surgery.
It was good that you can get in to see the cardiologist on Sept 17th. That still gives you time before your surgery date. I wish you well and will pray about the situation and about the pcp issue for you. debby

I will end up changing pcp's but I am not going to do it until after the first of the year. With the surgery so close I just don't want to do anything with my pcp at this point because I just don't want to have to get to know another pcp and get them on board with the surgery. This gives me plenty of time to research and find things out about the one that I pick. I know that everything will work out in the end just need to be a little patient.

I dont know many pcp s who call patients themselves. More often it is the nurse. It seems that more and more people are having abnormal tests but follow ups prove to be normal. Dont sweat it and deal with it one step at a time. If it has to be delayed, just know that it is in your best interest. You certainly want to be the healthiest you can before you have surgery.
