Have you checked out WLS Lifetyles? It is an online magazine and you also get a copy in the mail. Great articles.

The Lovely Bones is an amazing book, but it's pretty heavy in terms of topic matter. The Help is a great book as well, not as heavy. I also love Jen Lancaster, she started as a blogger and now has 3 different books chronicling experiences she has. She's absolutely hilarious!
I have many more suggestions (I'm an avid reader) so if you want any others, message me and I'll do some research for you.

I've been reading some older books by Torey Hayden. She works with disabled and troubled kids. I read one book and was hooked, she really lets you understand what being in her class is like, and the depth and emotions of dealing with the kids.
I started with her book......One Child.

I am going to suggest some books that I normally would not even read because it is about the interaction between humans, vampires and werewolves! The Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyers, in this order "Twilight", then New Moon (which is on PPV/Direct TV now) and Eclipse which will be in the movies in late June. I am surprised myself that I am so in love with this series! I think there is one more book which will complete series! If you can imagine true love among humans, vampires and werewolves, try these books!! Debbie

The few books by Wally Lamb. His stories always take such a twist that they catch you by surprise.... great reading!

Check out Philippa Gregory, Mercedes Lackey, Rita Mae Brown, Anne McCaffrey, Dick Francis, John Grisham, Janet Evanovich and Diane Mott Davidson. It depends on what you like, but they run the gamut of Faery/Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mystery and Suspense.

I read to escape, so tend to stay away from the deep stuff.
