I have been going through a lot in the last 2 months, my spouse has MS, Lyme Disease and Dementia. Has been going down hill rapidly for the past 2 months. Last Thursday she had a Respiratory Arrest at home. I did CPR here at home and she was intubated as soon as she arrived at the hospital. The ER doc gave her a 5% chance of pulling through. To date she is off life support and her vital signs have improved greatly. She told me I made a big mistake in bringing her back. I knew then but just could not let her go! The lesions on her brain have increased and are near her Respiratory Center. I am hoping for the best but the odds are bad.

I am truly sorry that you are going through this. I can not offer you much but friendship, a shoulder to cry on, prayers and my sincere sympathy. There are things in life sweetie that we need to leave to a higher power. You just continue to stay in high spirits and keep the faith. May God bless you and your spouse.

Do you have power of attorney for your spouse, and has she executed a living will?

I cannot make those decisions for my spouse or mother, and I make it plain it must all be legal and written.

Oh...Altheia...My heart goes out to you and your spouse. My husband went into respitory arrest last year and I also was told they didn't expect him to make it through the night....I know how scary it is....stay strong and always believe that the choices you make out of love are the correct ones....you both are in my thoughts and prayers......My husband was in icu for awhile and made it a full recovery. ....surprisingly the doctors said the one thing that probably saved his life was the fact he is a big man.... he had more oxygen in his blood and well more blood in that big body...We laugh now that being overweight saved his life. You have a lot on your plate right now....put it in Gods hands as he will never give you more than you can handle.....if you need to talk shoot me a message....
