Odd personal question

Okay, I had bypass Aug 29th 2012, the week before I am to start my monthly I have developed this extreme craving for junk food does anyone else have this issue and how did you satisfy the craving without eating junk bc when I do I have dumping syndrome so bad.

Those cravings are totally head hunger, so deal with it like that. First, drink a glass of water, then distract; take a walk, knit a scarf, paint a picture, do some yoga, meditate..... whatever tools you're developing to do the head work of WLS.

Another thing for me is if I stay away from all carbs, keep it to 20 or less per day, and then I don't get the cravings from hell. Good luck!

My cravings came back in year 3 as well and it takes moment by moment healthy choices. It is really important to pay attention to your thoughts. Notice what your thoughts are that lead to the cravings. Like MNMama said, distracting yourself works.

thank you ladies I have lost a little over 250lbs and have had 2 kids since, some days are harder than others. its nice to have a group of people who understand and have been there. I am so sick of hearing "you took the easy way out" when the surgery was not even really a choice it was this or death. Doc said have it or be dead in a few weeks even though I struggle day to day I wouldn't change a thing. Today/tomorrow (its 230am here and I am working) but I am going to go back to logging my food and liquid, maybe go back to step 1 (liquids) and "starting over/retraining my body and mind.
